DAY 1, Monday Aug. 24,2020

Today, we arrive at San Francisco! Settle into your room and later the group will have a meet and greet at 6:00pm, then head out for a dinner together.

DAY 2, Tuesday Aug 25, 2020

After breakfast, we will take a  streetcar to Fisherman's Wharf. There, we will dive in and taste some of San Francisco's delicious food at The Ferry Building and Farmer's Market. The Ferry building was built in the late 19th century and houses some of San Francisco's finest chefs. We will sample foods from the locals and get a taste of the culture.
 
After the tour we will head to pier 33 to catch the ferry and visit the legendary Alcatraz, former prison and now National Park. Alcatraz housed criminals like Al Capone and Gun Kelly and it is the most visited spot in San Francisco today. While on board the ferry take in the views of The Golden Gate Bridge and Bay Bridge. We will have lunch and check out more of Fisherman's Wharf and the famous pier 39. Tonight, dinner is your choice, there are so many delicious foods to try and your tour director will have an array of options if you cannot decide.

Day 3, Wednesday Aug. 26, 2020

Today, we will get an early start and spend the day exploring Napa Valley and Sonoma wine country with a local guide. We'll learn the history of wine making and culture of the locals as we taste some of the best wines in the area. Take in the beautiful rolling hills of Sonoma and stop at the family-run Nicholson Ranch Winery in the foothills of Sonoma. While taking in the breathtaking views of the vineyards, you'll be sipping Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
 
Then it's on to the world-famous Napa Valley and have a tour and tasting at beautiful The Madonna Estate. We will have lunch at Sonoma Square Plaza, one of the largest plazas in California. after lunch, it's time fore more wine.
 
Our next stop is Sutter Home, in the 1800's it was the most recognized winery in America.Tonight dinner is yours to choose. Union Square has a variety of restaurants to check out near our hotel.

Day 4, Thursday Aug. 27, 2020

This morning is yours to decide.There are an endless array of things to do on your free time from taking in the sites by cable car, exploring Union Square, take a whale watching cruise, check out the museums, visit the park or Chinatown. There are a variety of things to so and see in San Francisco, if your undecided your tour director will have many options to help you decide. Later this evening we will meet at the hotel around 6:00 pm and head out for our final  dinner together.

Day 5, Friday Aug. 28, 2020

Time to say a bitter farewell and leave San Francisco behind.Your tour director will help you with your transfers to the airport.

ACTIVITY LEVEL AND HEALTH

Active: This tour will require walking, possible stair climbing, standing for long periods, climbing on and off buses/trains/subways, walking in crowded areas, uneven pavement and steps. You will need to be able to walk at least 2-4 miles a day to participate in the tour. It is the responsibility of the guest to determine if the activity level is right for them.

How To Book A Tour


HOW TO BOOK: Tours are complete and confirmed once we have recieved the booking form and your deposit or full payment has been made. In each tour itinerary listing click the "SIGN ME UP" button to go to the booking form. The form must be submitted for all payment options. In the booking form you will select your tour, method of payment, and all necessary information. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover credit/debit cards,money order, personal check and cashiers checks. HOW TO PAY:

  • Paying By Phone: If you selct to pay by phone, a representative will contact you after the booking form is submitted to finish the payment process.
  • Paying by Check, Money Order and Cashier's Check- Once the booking form is submitted you will receive a invoice by email with instructions on where to send payment.Booking is not confirmed until payment is received and cleared by the bank. You will have 14 days from submitting the form to get your payment in.




After You Book


  • You will be emailed a confirmation email once booking is complete with your tour information, deadline dates and invoice.
  • A representative will contact you to discuss your new tour and answer any questions you may have.
  • 30 days prior to the tour you will receive your final trip details including your roommate assignment, tour director information, meetup information, itinerary and further tour details.

How to pay While filling out your booking form you will choose one of the following options: ​​
  • By Phone - Once you have submitted the booking form a representative will contact you by phone and go over the itinerary and securely process your payment by credit card or debit card.
  • By Mail - After submitting the booking form you will receive an invoice of the final tour price. All discounts will be added to the invoice after submitting the form. Cancellation Policies


Due to Covid-19 our cancellation policies have changed. NEW CANCELLATION POLICIES AS OF 3/1/2020:

  • Up to 14 days prior to tour start date - Full 100% refund including deposit with no cancellation penalties
  • 14 days or less prior to tour start date - Deposit is retained
  • You may also change to a different tour date with no fees
Tours are booked until full, If you are booking 90 days or less, prior to the tour start date full payment is required.




Travel Insurance


Life happens and sometimes plans are altered, travel insurance can protect you from delays, cancellations, theft of property, medical emergencies and damages.Travel insurance is optional but highly recommended. In order to protect your travel investment we recommend purchasing travel protection.




Room Assignments & Room Options


Room Options Double Occupancy: Shared room with an assigned roommmate Single Supplement: A room to yourself (additional fees apply) Pre-Night: Book a room the night before the start of the tour (additional fees apply) Room Assignments Rooms are assigned based on age and gender. You will recieve an email 30 days prior to tour departure with your new rommates information. Can I request my own roommate? Yes, you can. If you are coming with someone that you know and want to share a room with them you can request a roommate in the booking form. Both guests will need to request each other when filling out the booking form. Can I change my room while on the tour? If while on tour you decide room sharing is not the best fit for you, you will need to check with the hotel to see what available room options they have. It is the guests responsability for any room/hotel changes they make once the tour has started. Guests are responsible for any additional charges for room changes. Please, be sure that shared rooming is right for you before booking a double occupancy room.




Passport & Visas


You will need a passport whenever you are traveling outside or into the United States. Passports are not needed for U.S, domestic flights. Visit https://www.travel.state.gov for information on passports and visas. If a passport is required for your tour it must be valid for at least 6 months prior to tour start date and have at least 3 blank pages available.




Documents Required


To start your booking you will need to submit the booking form. The booking form must be completed by all guests. The following information is due No Later than 30 days prior to the tour start date :

  • Travel Insurance information if you are purchasing travel protection
  • Copy of Passport (photo page)
  • Airline information (airline carrier, schedule, flight and gate numbers)

  • Travelers are limited 1 suitcase and 1 carry-on for all tours. Some motor coaches, trains ect. have limited storage
  • Please note, tour directors do not assist with luggage, so please only bring what you are capable of carrying by yourself
  • Check with your airline for any baggage restrictions during your flight

Our Response To Covid-19 (Coronavirus)


Here at Breezy Backpack we are concerned about the events around the world and the effects that Covid-19 has on travelers.We want you to have peace of mind when traveling. Our first priority will always be the safety of our guests and tour directors. We know that in these unprecedented times it is vital that you feel confident when booking a trip, for that reason we have changed our cancellation policies. You can now cancel for any reason and get a full refund including deposit with no cancellations fees or penalties up until 14 days prior to tour start date. We are keeping track of all the latest news and alerts and will continue to keep you informed. We are using information from The World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. State Department and The Center For Disease Control (CDC) only and will keep you up to date as changes are taking effect. NEW POLICIES IN EFFECT AS OF 3/1/2020

  • Cancel your tour for any reason up to 14 days prior to tour departure with a 100% full refund and no cancellation penalties until December 31,2021. You will also have the option to change your tour to a different date.
  • 14 days or less prior to tour start date- deposit is retained
  • Smaller groups (14 guest maximum)

  • Single supplement offered for those who want a room to themselves.
WHILE ON TOUR We are working hard to make sure our guests and directors are safe while on tour. We want to ensure every guest has a healthy and safe trip, to do so we have made the following changes while on tour:
  • More outdoor activities and daily wellness checks
  • Social distancing practiced during the tour (including activities, meals and on motor coaches)
  • Face masks are provided and required for all guests and staff
  • Hand sanitizer provided for all guests and staff
  • We are working with our travel partners to ensure healthy policies and procedures are in place, such as social distancing and cleaning policies




When To Book Flights


Tours are guaranteed after a minimum of 4 guests have booked. It is very rare that a tour is not guaranteed. We ask that our guests wait until they have received the confirmation email that the tour is guaranteed before booking flights. The email will be received no later than 120 days prior to tour start date. Tours book fast, so please don't wait until it says guaranteed. All guaranteed tours will be noted at the top of the booking page (under the SIGN ME UP button) once they are booked with the minimum guests.
